I’ve always been passionate about editing.  I love to sculpt words and ideas, shaping and smoothing them to achieve beauty, clarity, and meaning.  My real joy is to help others express themselves effectively and make the impact they are looking for.

I have a BA in English and completed graduate work in technical writing and copyediting. I have worked as an in-house copyeditor and proofreader for a large publishing company which specializes in academic journals.  In my freelance business, I have edited an engineering patent, magazine articles, non-fiction books, and children’s picture books. 

I love living in New York with my husband, Joel, an educator and professional musician. I took a hiatus from editing so I could do the best job ever, home-educate our four children. During our homeschooling years, I founded and directed a successful, academic cooperative comprised of forty parent-volunteers and 130 students. In addition to running the co-op, I taught English courses in writing, classic British literature, classic American literature, children’s literature, and art. For over a decade, I  thoroughly enjoyed assisting students in developing their writing and analytical skills.

With my homeschooling career complete, I went back to college to further my education, hone my skills, and launch my own editing and writing business.  As an independent contractor, I have the honor and privilege of working with amazing people, learning about their world, and assisting them in perfecting their message.
